Robert Lee Brewer is hosting his annual Poem-a-Day (PAD) contest with Writer’s Digest. The prompts are often a good way to get yourself writing (and if you’re submitting to a journal like Rattle or ONE ART, then you do not have to worry that your work previously appeared online in a forum.
As something to look forward to, Robert also hosts a Poem-a-Day challenge in November, NaPoRiMa, a play on NaNoWriMo (Write a novel in a month). For the November challenge, the goal is to get together a chapbook. Whether or not you deem it ready for publication in that short amount of time can be more of an afterthought.
If you don’t want to wait until April, I have quite a few prompt posts on my substack as well as those I compiled into this self-guided workshop I call Intersections.
