Time off “the grid”. Spend time engaged in activities where no third party is making money off you. Social media, and many websites, make money off you (the user) for every second you spend viewing, scrolling, clicking. By opting out and choosing to do something that does not involve virtual engagement, you are choosing to defy the technocrats who would prefer that only elites have the opportunity to take up space in the real world. This isn’t a conspiracy theory. I’ve heard many say this is how wealthy technologists, Venture Capitalists, and the ultra-rich 1% speak about “other people”. This is the American caste system. The extremely wealthy see the rest of us as mostly “useless” NPCs (non-player characters) wasting vital resources, scapegoated others who they do not wish to interact with and insist would be better quarantined into a virtual realm (like the metaverse) where we can live out pointless lives, entertained by digital shadows, while the elites can use the rest of the Earth’s resources as their personal playground. So, take a breather and “touch grass” as the kids say.

I'm nervously hitting like as I really like this but feel like I'm betraying it by being on social media. I promise to take a day off though. I do have to say I did stay off all electronics for two months while in therapy two years ago. I still fail to remember to check my vm and it often is full and almost never see texts. And I have my ringer on do not disturb except for my family, drs, my husband and that's it. I rarely use my phone anymore.
Spent the day writing poetry with four other poets, in person.
