Post-Patriot Act, these folks were born into a world of fear and suspicion. Edward Snowden did not create the situation, he simply revealed it.
Having the first Black president does not make up for mass shootings, murdered Black citizens, and endless war.
We weathered The Great Recession and now find ourselves in a pandemic as well as the first depression of the new millennium.
We have wreaked havoc on our planet and young adults are unimpressed with older generations' stewardship. The storm has already come. There are more storms on the horizon.
Don't blame the victims. Look who runs the place. See the future in Trump's ultra conservative judicial appointments.

Today is 9/11, 2020. Almost 20 years since a day we promised to never forget. What have we learned about ourselves as Americans? What does it mean to be American now? What do we want it to mean to be American in 2021?
