Part 2:
Like Sisyphus, we begin each day with a boulder to push up a hill.
Our boulder matters to us.
Each of our boulders looks different, of course. The CEO’s boulder doesn’t look quite like the DMV clerk’s boulder which doesn’t look quite like the line cook’s boulder which doesn’t look like the artist’s boulder. That doesn’t make the boulder any less real and it doesn’t make each person’s boulder any easier to push up the hill.
If you’re wondering whether or not someone can help you push your boulder up your hill. Well, that’s something to consider. It’s certainly possible, depending on what your daily agenda and tasks look like, if you can delegate, and then of course your ability to delegate.
There’s a reason people often say they’d rather just do something themselves. But it’s not necessarily the best course, or the easier way. This requires asking yourself many questions. Such as how much work is required on the front end for the future potential to make pushing that daily boulder a little less cumbersome.
How are you going to go about getting your boulder up that hill today?
Well, my first poetry collection got published. I'm going to take a day to enjoy the accomplishment. And then get back to real life and do all the work that comes with it :)
I am going to leave my boulder at the bottom of the hill today and take a day of rest.
