Small Victories: Part 7
Use tech responsibly.
Consider the hierarchy of mediums and their purposes.
Be aware of why you are using an app and what you are gaining. If you’re sharing, what is the reason and the desired end. It’s all about intentionality.
A text message suggests an urgent call to action (CTA). An email signals less urgency. How fast do you really need a response?
Are you using social media for business? If not, what are your reasons for being on each platform? Make a list of pros and cons. If the cons strongly outweigh the pros, consider heavily limiting your engagement with the platform or ditching it (at least temporarily as an experiment to see how you feel).
Track the amount of time you spend on these platforms each day, each week, each month. It adds up quickly. The time you spend on social media is, generally speaking, time you do not have for activities that have the potential to yield a true sense of accomplishment.
A “yes” to one choice is a “no” to many other options.
There are few small victories that can be achieved on social media.
Can you name them?
