A little while back, Chuck Klosterman took on the role of The Ethicist for The New York Times. I truly enjoyed reading his responses to people’s questions. A memorable one was a protracted response to a question about saving spaces that you had personally shoveled out. Klosterman’s response took a humorous tangent about how it’s remarkable that people are even allowed to park their private property in public spaces and they should be thankful for that let alone.
Ok, so the above is my conventional front-loading. All this to say — if you have an ethical question, feel free to send it my way. I can’t promise an unbiased or enlightened answer, however, I can assure you a bit of fun and good ol’ fashioned armchair philosophizing is likely to come into play.
I now await your ethical quandaries.
I have to say that The Ethicist is my favorite NYT column and the first thing I read after my first round with Spelling Bee.
Yes indeed!
