Trump and his cohort have already long affected what I am able to buy by shutting down all the discount places I relied on, like Daedalus Books, Steinmart, et all, of blessed memory, and assuring that I will have to scramble to get clothes in petite sizes for myself. The only place, for the most part, where I can afford to buy them now is consignment stores, like ThredUp. And the prices are rising.

ThredUp is great, but I agree, getting much pricier!

Mark, you are right, there's always a work-around. Think from your heart inside of your pocket when giving a gift. Home purchased too - second hand/garage sales are great alternatives. Even relatives... we got lots of our original furniture from my in-laws attic.

I couldn't agree more, Laura!

Thrifted gifts are often the best gifts. Someone clearly had to go out of their way to hunt down something that felt unique and special and appropriate for that specific individual.

A lot of good memories spending time in flea markets.

I hadn’t heard of Back Market— thanks for the tip! Wanted to add: local Facebook Buy Nothing groups are a great source, as well!
