I just sent some "poetry postcards" to a writer I know on social media. He'd made the request to help celebrate a new home and new stability, and it gave me joy to do. I'll try to do more, unsolicited. A great idea!

This is a charming idea, Mark, especially for friends who (with far greater self-control than I possess) are not on social media.

Maybe if it were to a writer friend you could have a list of four or five or however many people you wanted to on a list with names and addresses. As long as each person agreed to it. You could mail a paragraph or stanza of a story or a poem and include a stamp and mail it to the next person on the list. The next person would do the same. The last person would mail it back to you and you could type up the story or poem and share it with the group, no changes. Sort of like a telephone story or poem except a mail story. You could all decide on a title. Then the next person for the next time would be the one who started it whenever they felt like it. A little surprise you never knew when coming. It might be fun!
